Reiki is a Japanese method of hands on healing.  The Japanese word “Rei” means something sacred or Divinely-guided; the word “Ki” means life force energy or the animating force of all life.  Reiki energy is the healing energy of the Universe and it is around and within all living things.

Reiki practitioners are trained to channel this energy to others through the palms of their hands.  This vital energy activates the natural healing processes, detoxifying the body of both physical and emotional blockages while bringing deep relaxation and peacefulness.  As blockages are released, balance is restored, allowing you to return to your own optimal state of harmony, health and fullness of well-being.

Reiki is intelligent and flows where we most need it and for our greatest and highest good.  You may come seeking relief from a physical imbalance and find that your mental, emotional or spiritual path experience a positive shift as well.  Reiki always gives you exactly what is needed for your optimal healing.

Reiki works with all healing modalities and is never harmful.  Some – but definitely not all - of the specific issues Reiki helps with include:

  • Pain relief

  • Recovery from surgery

  • Side effects from medical treatment

  • Immune support

  • Improved digestion

  • Fertility issues

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and hopelessness

  • Insomnia

  • Releasing old triggers and patterns

  • Healing trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Recovering joy

  • And much, much more

Welcome!  We’ll check in about your present state, discuss your healing goals and I’ll answer any questions you may have about Reiki.  You remain fully clothed and we’ll get you tucked-in and cozy on the massage table.  A series of hand positions are methodically and intuitively applied, lasting about an hour or more.  As in any bodywork modality, safe touch is maintained at all times.  At the end of your Reiki treatment, you’ll have time to stretch, return to the here-and-now and we’ll check in about what you experienced and ways to take care of yourself post-treatment.  A full 60-minute Reiki treatment can last up to 1.5 hours; less for children.

The Reiki experience is unique to every individual. Many people feel deeply relaxed, warm and nurtured.  Some enter a dream-like state while others find their Reiki sessions to be energizing or stimulating.  Because Reiki works with each person uniquely, how one feels during and after a treatment varies greatly.  The best way to understand Reiki is to experience it!  And while just one Reiki treatment can feel absolutely amazing, Reiki’s healing benefits are cumulative.  If you are navigating chronic or deep-seated issues, a series of treatments are recommended.

Before becoming a Reiki healer I was an MBA graduate working as a product manager in the start-up tech sector.  The work culture was incredibly fast-paced, high-stress, impersonal and brutal.  My saving grace was spending as much time as possible hiking and camping in Mother Nature with my husband and close friends.  That's when I could tap in and see that my career was out of sync with my true purpose and was actually making me sick.  After a few years, I pressed the pause button on my career and focused on the next phase of my life - starting a family and diving into Motherhood.

Fast forward many wild, amazing, mirror-reflecting years and three beautiful children later, during which time I became educated in and passionate about holistic health and wellness, the nutrition principles gleaned from Dr. Weston Price's work (I volunteered for a year working on the Nourishing Our Children campaign), became a volunteer birth doula at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, started a meditation and Qigong practice, and became more clear that my true path included helping others on their healing journeys.

In 2014 life brought me a number of intense challenges that overwhelmed me to my breaking point.  In my darkest hour, I put out an SOS to the Universe and it was Reiki that answered my call.  Through the receiving of Reiki from other practitioners to learning how to work with Reiki for self-healing and healing others, I experienced profound shifts on so many levels.  And soon after I began experiencing the magic of Reiki, it became abundantly clear how much I wanted to offer this powerful and loving Healing Art to others on their own healing journeys, and to open a Reiki Practice of my own.

I received my certification in Usui Reiki Level I in 2016 from Anna Dorian.  In 2017, I was certified in Usui Reiki Level II also by Anna Dorian and then furthered my studies with Rhea Mistades, completing Advanced Reiki Training (A.R.T.) in the Usui-Tibetan lineage.  I worked as a volunteer Reiki Practitioner at the Vibrant Reiki low-cost community clinic throughout 2017 and 2018.  I went on to earn my Reiki Master from Caroline Vigery in 2018 and have been assisting Caroline's Reiki classes.

Reiki has been the most powerfully healing and transformative modality I’ve experienced, and I feel tremendously blessed to share it with others.  I look forward to seeing you soon.

“Transformative and powerful, is in a nut shell, what Reiki with Michele is all about. I lost a close friend this past year to cancer. The Reiki treatments I had with Michele helped me process my grief in a gentle and loving way. I am forever grateful to Michele for her genuine care through this difficult, emotional time. While I still miss my dear friend, I don't feel the hopelessness or regret I once felt after she passed away. Reiki helped me experience all of my feelings so I could begin healing."
